Land Acknowledgment

I acknowledge that I am a guest in a land that was stolen from the First peoples. I am currently in Seminole land. I acknowledge their pain and suffering that not only their peoples experience in the past but continued systemic oppression.

Understanding my social location is something that is at the forefront of most of my days. I started actively pursuing this journey years ago rather than being a passive participant. Knowledge of privilege does little good without action. I have an action plan where I am anti-racist within my circles. I recognize that I have implicit biases and continue to work through those with colleagues.

I bring my willingness to learn and grow, highlighting the power differentials within our relationship and society.
